The Chicago Riverwalk

The Chicago Riverwalk extends from Lake Michigan to N. Franklin St. on the Main Branch of the Chicago River. Until recently, the path was at river level from Lake Michigan to the N. Michigan Ave. bridge where it continued along Upper Wacker Dr. River sections were accessed from upper Wacker Dr. by staircases at the bridges. In the summer of 2008 the path at river level was extended to the base of the N. State St. bridge. The photographs on this page capture that path.
